India produces affordable iPad


India is developing a touch screen tablet that can rival the iPad. The difference is, the price is very affordable compared to Apple's devices.


Intended for students, iPad similar computer-based Linux operating system uses the open source program and a memory card, not the hard drive.





These tablets could be used for word processing, surfing the web, and video conferencing. Comes with the Internet browser, Wi-Fi connectivity, multimedia player, PDF readers and supported by a backup resource capacity of 2 watts.

Tablets also supports energy sources of sun although the cost will be higher than U.S. $ 35 or about 300 thousand which was pegged.

"We have made a breakthrough and are now ready to take the attention of the market," said Mamta Varma, a spokesman for the ministry of human resource development of India, as quoted from the Associated Press, July 28, 2010.

Currently the Indian government itself is looking for electronic equipment manufacturers who are willing to manufacture tablet computer device at the upcoming 2011.

Looking ahead, the Indian government wants to provide subsidies so that prices become more affordable tablet for school students. Projected, the price will lower to around U.S. $ 20 or U.S. $ 10 only.
