Athletic Bilbao defender Ekiza Borja has urged his team to put their domestic form behind them when they take the in-form Paris Saint Germain in the European League F. Group
Marcelo Bielsa's men had a slow start in Primera Division, picking up just two points from their five games.
The Spanish team entering Thursday's game in the back of last week's 1-1 draw against Villarreal, which fell to 19th place in the standings.
"We did not win but we have shown a good performance and what is important," said Ekiz. "Now we must continue on this path and I'm sure the wins will come."
Athletics, who won 2-1 Slovan Bratislava in their opening pool, desperately want to rediscover the winning touch at the San Mames, where they come out triumphant in the last three European games.
"We face a great battle against a great competitor and we will all go to get a win," said Ekiza. "We know it will be difficult because the PSG has major signings this summer, but we will do our best."
Ekiza knows the hand must be kept strictly Javier Pastor.
Argentine midfielder joined the French giants in Palermo this summer and hit twice last weekend by 3-0 Ligue 1 win at Montpellier.
"Pastore is the strongest player we have," said Ekiz. "We will ensure they do not give room to maneuver."
PSG coach Antoine Kombouaré has urged his players not to play their impressive start to the campaign.
The capital club are on a run of eight matches without defeat, including a 3-1 win over Salzburg in their first Ligue European group.
Moreover, last week's triumph at the Stade de la Mosson PSG was the first in Montpellier in 12 years.
"We must be humble and keep working," said Kombouaré.
"We must continue in the same direction."
Visitors supported by the return of defenders Christophe Jallet and Luciano Monzon, who remained in the game last weekend due to suspension.
